Croda missed its 2024 milestone of 71% bio-based organic raw materials (achieved 56% in 2024 vs 59% in 2023). Milestone was set before 2022 divestiture of most Industrial businesses and was not rebaselined.

sustainability_report p.18

Restated GHG, energy and water for Solus Biotech integrationData confidence — high

Croda restated Scope 1, Scope 2 (location and market), Scope 3 upstream, emission intensity, total energy, and water withdrawal for prior years (2018, 2022, 2023) to complete integration of the Iksan site following the Solus Biotech acquisition mid-2023. Also corrected a data-gathering error for 2023 water withdrawal (165Ml duplicate). Restatements per policy when changes exceed 5%.

sustainability_report p.21

Dependent: Bio-based raw material sourcing transitioning beyond virgin cropsData confidence — high

56% of organic raw materials bio-based in 2024 (target 75% by 2030; missed 2024 milestone of 71% post-divestiture). RSPO Mass Balance is primary standard for palm-derivative products (88.2% of palm derivatives certified RSPO MB; 100% of Consumer Care palm ingredients RSPO certified on mass-balance basis). Moving beyond primary crops to consider recycled/waste materials.

sustainability_report p.13

Restated Land Area Saved and Carbon Cover methodologyData confidence — high

Improved calculation methodology for Land Area Saved (2019 baseline 103,419 ha vs prior 92,223 ha, +12.1%) and Carbon emissions avoided / Carbon Cover Ratio (2023 0.9:1 vs prior 1.05:1, -14.5%) using a new rate of clothing damage for laundry performance additive and adjusted GHG emissions.

sustainability_report p.21

Refined downstream Scope 3 methodologyData confidence — high

Refined methodology and assumptions for downstream Scope 3 inventory (first measured 2023) to better identify hotspots and prioritise customer collaboration on decarbonisation.

sustainability_report p.15

Decarbonising manufacturing heat via waste-heat steam recovery and energy procurement reassessmentData confidence — high

Croda has reduced absolute Scope 1+2 emissions by 28% from 2018 baseline, on track for its SBT of 46.2% reduction by 2029. At the Chocques (France) site - one of Croda's largest - most steam is supplied by an external waste-to-energy incinerator (84-94% of steam demand 2018-2024), with a new more efficient incinerator partnership signed for completion 2027. All Croda sites have decarbonisation roadmaps (target met 2022). The firm has 'reassessed how we procure energy' alongside designing decarbonisation into capital investment decisions, supported by an internal carbon price.

sustainability_report p.13

Dependent: Downstream Scope 3 / product-level carbon footprint dataData confidence — high

Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) statements made available for >2,000 products across all markets (since 2023). Supports customer Scope 3 decarbonisation, including ~1,500 Beauty Care + 600 Home Care ingredients. Downstream Scope 3 first measured 2023, with refined methodology in 2024 to identify hotspots.

sustainability_report p.7

Living Wage certification (Fair Wage Network) - final stagesData confidence — high

All Croda employees globally paid a Living Wage since 2021. In 2024 completed initial assessment of contractor population. In final stages of Fair Wage Network certification.

sustainability_report p.3

Permanent carbon removal reserved for residual emissions in 2050 net zero pathwayData confidence — high

Croda's net zero roadmap (illustrative diagram, p13) shows permanent carbon removals only deployed in 2050 to neutralise residual emissions (no more than 10% of baseline, per SBTi Net Zero definition). The interim pathway to 2030 relies on energy investments, value chain engagement, sustainable bio-based raw material sourcing, supply chain emission reductions and efficiency savings - not on offsets or removals. No removals tonnage disclosed for 2024.

sustainability_report p.15

Primary: Water use impact reduction in water-stressed basinsData confidence — high

50% water use impact reduction target by 2030 vs 2018 baseline; top four sites in water-stressed regions (India, Brazil, France, Spain) achieved >25% reduction by end-2024. Total water withdrawal 3,248 Ml in 2024 (down 30% vs 2018). Chocques concentrator investment expected to cut water for steam-generation by 15%, reducing site groundwater demand by 3%; closed-water-loop engineering studies underway.
