Buildings are the primary energy consumers. Infosys has 28.9 mn sq.ft. with the highest level of green certification and monitors 35 mn sq.ft. of office space through its Command Center which schedules 'auto-pilot operations' using built-in intelligence. Infosys is the first Indian company to participate in the RE100 initiative. Has set up 14.4 MW of rooftop and ground mount solar PV panels plus a 40 MW captive solar power plant at Sira, Karnataka — totalling 60 MW installed solar capacity. Also procures green energy via third-party power purchase agreements (PPAs) and uses green tariff mechanisms for C&I consumers in Hyderabad and Bhubaneshwar. As a result, 57.9% of electricity for India operations comes from renewables. Target: 75% renewable energy globally by 2030.

Rather than buying offsets off the shelf, Infosys carefully selects grass-root social development projects and runs them to generate emission offsets. Infosys is the first Indian company to join RE100. We have 60 MW of total installed solar capacity. In fiscal 2022, 53.8% of electricity for India operations was from renewables, including electricity generated from our solar PV plants and green power procurement. 53% of data center energy was met through renewable sources. We are working with state governments in India to facilitate favorable policies to increase the share of renewables in our energy mix.
